Quotes
from the press
* There is a passionate musicianship and the atmosphere is there. David
Golek is profiled as a Jazz guitarist with his own style. (Muziek Wereld
Magazine, Holland).
* David Golek is a young guitarist who developed a beautiful and mature
way of playing. He is accompanied by Thorsten Grau, Orjan Graafmans,
Brice Soniano and a splendid Mai Norby on Vocals. The album is not pretencious
and reflects purity like the ideas that Golek talks and practices himself.
We had the opportunity a short while ago to listen to him at the 'Jamboree'
in Barcelona, where we could see that it concerns a modest but dilligent
musician. A real Discovery! (Rated 4 stars out of 5 at the 'Guitarra
Actual' magazine, Spain).
* Golek Gathered european musicians from different countries to create
a fine, delicate, dream-like and funky album, which it's concept is
that things can be done differently. A personal yearning for peace which
combines a brazilian touch, sophisticated 'around the fire'- like songs,
and intimate funk. The ending (of the cd) with 'What a wonderful world'
is stiring and sophisticated. (The third ear magazine, Israel)

The David Golek Trio
A multi facet
and highly expressive trio consisting some of Europe finest players
in the jazz scene creates ambiences from lirical atmospheres to groovy
rock through country music and jazz. Every concert is a celebration
of the moment and an unexpected journey! The trio combines acoustic
music also with effects, going from high energy music to a most delicate
and subtle one.
The repertoir consists of original compositions and free shaped ambiences
but the music can take a turn into a jazz standard as well, in a way
defined by the moment..
The trio is innovative and seeks for new borders in it's music, keeping
an open ear to all sorts of music being done today, embracing as well
today's technology possibilities, while keeping a subtle way to use
it and keeping the musicality above all.
Quotes from the press:

stylistic borders. He does not deal with free-jazz but rather the freedom
to make jazz in a soulful and unrestricted way. Golek works with a versatile
group.' (Maariv newspaper, Israel).
* 'A band with their own character ' (NRC handelsblad, Holland).
* 'Golek is a talented guitarist with a deep melodic sense, full of
imagination and integrity' (Globes magazine). band with their own character.

Solo Project:
Meditations, Medications and Dedications
The idea of this
solo project came after a number of collaborations with modern dance
projects with whome D.G. had the chance to participate playing live
on the basis of an Impro-dance-music. This new solo project is a journey
exploring sound, textures, lines and spaces, and combines also, as the
project's title sugests, medidative-like aspects while diving into ambiences
and moods sugested by the moment. The music contains elements of drama
and story telling as well within itself, as long as the moment suggests
it.
Anat
Spiegel & David Golek
We take the
opportunity for the first time, to take a journey in Israeli music.
"Vocalist
Anat Spiegel, is one of Israel's most promessing talents, and works
with her own projects combining music, movement, theater and film. David
Golek works with multi-cultural jazz projects and beyond, combining
different directions in music, collaborating with artists from the jazz
world as well as folklore. The two made a choice of Israeli music repertoire,
old and new, mixing it along with their own music influences, giving
the music a fresh new touch, while keeping the spirit and mood of the
original versions. The program includes also some own songs written
by the two. In the repertoir you will find songs originally written
by Matti Caspi, Yehudit Ravitz, Zehava Ben, Hava Alberstein, Perski,
Ha haverim shel Natascha, Yoni Rechter and many more."
The duo is extended on certain occassions to a quartet with acoustic
bass and Percussion with special arrangements.
Maria
Jose Ortiz and David Golek
This is a relatively
new adventure for me. Living in Argentina during my childhood years,
I always felt this unconditional love to Argentinian culture and it's
music. Lately I got into Argentinian music (and it's dancing...) and
I've found a powerful bond, a wide door that opened for me, which enriches
everything I do with music and beyond that. This duo mainly specifies
in Argentinian folklore and Tango music. Maria jose Ortiz is a terrific
singer from Argentina. She collaborates with some of Argentina's top
musicians including the Maestros Orlando Trípodi, Rodolfo Mederos,
Carlos Rivero, Lilián Saba, Quique sinessi among others. She
currently tours with the Racing club tango group and is about to release
her next cd consisting of tangos and folklore.
